Postdoctoral Position available at the Institute of Functional Genomics, Montpellier, France funded by a major biotech company

A two-year postdoctoral position in molecular pharmacology is available from October 2024, at the Institute of Functional Genomics (IGF, Montpellier, France), a state-of-the-art laboratory that is affiliated to CNRS, INSERM and University of Montpellier. The host research team is entitled ”Neuroreceptors: dynamics and functions” (Dir. P. Rondard and J.-P. Pin).

The position is funded by a major biotechnological company based in USA and in Europe.

The aim of the project is to better understand the molecular functioning of a group of receptors, and to develop innovative antibodies to control their signaling. First, the project will require the development of new FRET-based molecular interaction assays to investigate the molecular mechanisms of these receptors to facilitate the discovery of new drugs. Second, camelid nanobodies targeting these receptors will be developed in collaboration with a group expert in monoclonal antibody development. Time-resolved FRET (HTRF) technologies will be used. The project is expected to lead to high level publications and patents.

The postdoctoral fellow should have a good expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry. He/she should have strong ability to communicate with the company.

Please send your application (including CV, publication list and references) to Dr. Philippe Rondard (philippe.rondard@igf.cnrs.fr) or Dr. Jean-Philippe Pin (jean-philippe.pin@igf.cnrs.fr).
